How do I watch the films on my Chromecast or Smart TV?

If you have a Chromecast device (3rd generation or later) you can cast your films from Chrome on your computer or Android phone to your Smart TV.

To Chromecast from your Android mobile device:

  • Make sure your mobile phone or tablet is on the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromecast device.
  • Tap the “Cast” icon in the lower right hand corner of the player. If no icon appears, this means casting is not supported on your device.

To Chromecast from your computer:

  • Open the content in the Google Chrome browser.
  • Click the “Cast” icon in the lower right hand corner of the player. If no icon appears, this means casting is not supported on your device.

How do I watch the films on my Apple TV?

Download the “Eventive TV” app from the Apple TV App Store (accessible via your TV.) You must have at least a fourth generation Apple TV to access the App Store.

When you open the app for the first time, you’ll see an activation code. On another device, please navigate to watch.eventive.org/tv, then log in (if necessary) and use the code provided to connect your account.

GENERAL QUESTIONS

Where can I watch the films?

You can watch the films using Chromecast, Android TV, Smart TV, the Eventive app on Apple TV and Roku, as well as from your PC, notebook, mobile device or tablet.

For PCs, notebooks, mobile and tablets, go to watch.eventive.org/scottsdaleiff2020 to begin watching.

Can I rewatch a film multiple times within a 24 hour period?

You can pause and rewind but you can’t restart the whole film. You can only watch a film once start to finish.

My movie won’t play – what should I check first?

  • If you use a VPN, Eventive’s content protection protocol does not allow VPN access.
  • Are you logged into the correct account? Check your login status at the upper right of the Eventive window.
  • If you are not logged in, you’ll see the word “login” at the upper right of the window. Click “login” and enter the desired account credentials.
  • If the player window is a black screen, please click or tap on the window to activate the player controls.
  • If you are using an external display, try disconnecting the display. Your display may not support the encryption necessary to securely stream your content. If you cannot detach the external display and are using Safari on a Mac, try switching to Google Chrome. If you are on a mobile device, try letting the film play for 15 seconds.

If none of these steps help, visit Eventive’s help page and click on the “launch live support’ link.

How much time do I have to watch my film?

Once you unlock a film, you will see an indication of how long you have to begin watching below the “watch now” button on the film page. After you’ve started watching the movie, you will have 48 hours to finish watching it. Each film’s page will track and show you exactly how much time is left to finish viewing the title.

Why can't I screen mirror from my iPhone or iPad?

While you can stream the films on your iPhone or iPad, due to content protection restrictions, the Screen Mirroring feature cannot be used with these devices. Additionally, HDMI or other video protocols cannot be connected through these devices to your TV. Instead, try using AirPlay, or one of our dedicated TV apps to watch using your TV.

How do I find my movies?

Check your email for the order confirmation email, and click the “watch now” button.

Visit your Content Library and you should see the films you have purchased there. You will need to be logged in to your account to view your library. Be sure to unlock your films prior to viewing.

You can also visit the 2020 Scottsdale International Film Festival Film Guide, and click on the original listing for the movie. If you’ve already ordered a film through your account, you will have the option to “watch now” from the virtual screening page. Be sure to unlock your films prior to viewing.
