Scottsdale International Film Festival In-Person vs. Virtual? What’s it all about?

The in-person Festival returns on Friday, Nov. 5th for Opening Night at the Harkins Shea 14 Theatres where all of the weekend performances will also be held. Films will then move to the Harkins Camelview at Scottsdale Fashion Square for the remaining in-person weekday performances.

For the virtual event, the Festival will host its on-demand films for anyone living in Arizona who prefers to stream. Most of the 2021 in-person films will be available online for three days from Wednesday, Nov. 10th through Friday, Nov. 12th.

A. Yes. All seats will be reserved in every auditorium. If a screening is not sold out at the published show time, you may visit the venue’s box office to purchase available reserved seats.

Q. MAY I PICK UP MY TICKETS AND PASSES AT WILL CALL?

A. We do not have a Will Call table this season. Please use the print-at-home option when you place your ticket order. We do not have e-readers for mobile phone tickets, so you MUST bring the paper tickets as proof of your admission and reserved seats. VIP Passes will be kept back at the Concierge table.

A. We encourage everyone who is attending their first film to arrive 45-minutes before the published show time and visit the Concierge table. Once you have received the wristband the auditoriums will be available for seating starting 30-minutes before the published show time. The wristband is good for the length of the in-person Festival.

Q. WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I CAN’T FIND MY PROOF OF COVID-19 VACCINATION CARD?

GENERAL QUESTIONS

Where can I watch the films?

You can watch the films using Chromecast, Android TV, Smart TV, the Eventive app on Apple TV and Roku, as well as from your PC, notebook, mobile device or tablet.

For PCs, notebooks, mobile and tablets, go to watch.eventive.org/scottsdalefilmfestival to begin watching.

Can I rewatch a film multiple times within a 24 hour period?

You can pause and rewind but you can’t restart the whole film. You can only watch a film once start to finish.

My movie won’t play – what should I check first?

  • If you use a VPN, Eventive’s content protection protocol does not allow VPN access.
  • Are you logged into the correct account? Check your login status at the upper right of the Eventive window.
  • If you are not logged in, you’ll see the word “login” at the upper right of the window. Click “login” and enter the desired account credentials.
  • If the player window is a black screen, please click or tap on the window to activate the player controls.
  • If you are using an external display, try disconnecting the display. Your display may not support the encryption necessary to securely stream your content. If you cannot detach the external display and are using Safari on a Mac, try switching to Google Chrome. If you are on a mobile device, try letting the film play for 15 seconds.

If none of these steps help, visit Eventive’s help page and click on the “launch live support’ link.

How much time do I have to watch my film?

Once you unlock a film, you will see an indication of how long you have to begin watching below the “watch now” button on the film page. After you’ve started watching the movie, you will have 48 hours to finish watching it. Each film’s page will track and show you exactly how much time is left to finish viewing the title.

Why can't I screen mirror from my iPhone or iPad?

While you can stream the films on your iPhone or iPad, due to content protection restrictions, the Screen Mirroring feature cannot be used with these devices. Additionally, HDMI or other video protocols cannot be connected through these devices to your TV. Instead, try using AirPlay, or one of our dedicated TV apps to watch using your TV.
